From national BAFTA Cymru coverage to featuring in a S4C documentary, getting in the spooky spirit, celebrating a £1 billion milestone, to the latest pet food news - here’s five peeks behind our week…

 

1. And the national coverage keeps rolling in for BAFTA Cymru

Our BAFTA Cymru team made sure that the great and the good from the press and media world were on the red carpet at the recent British Academy Cymru Awards. And on the night itself we coordinated interviews for The Sunday Times’ arts, media and entertainment correspondent with Gavin and Stacey’s Ruth Jones as well as Anthony Daniels, AKA C-3PO, of Star Wars fame. Gavin Tucker managed to get quite the scoop from them both, with Ruth Jones disclosing how difficult it was to keep the imminent Gavin and Stacey Christmas special a secret from her own mum, while Anthony Daniels didn’t hold back with his opinion on Disney’s takeover of the Star Wars franchise. 2. Homeless World Cup player stars in S4C documentary

Our team spent the past six months working with S4C digital strand Hansh on a documentary following the life of Wales player Osian, from living in a hostel in Caernarfon to playing in the week-long football tournament in Cardiff. The documentary begins with Osian showing the film makers around his hostel as he opens up about his family life and how he found himself on the streets of north Wales. After a period of playing for various football teams, he is selected by Street Football Wales to play for his country in the Homeless World Cup Cardiff 2019. We follow his personal journey from meeting actor and activist Michael Sheen to scoring his first goal for Wales. Diolch Osian.

 

3. Spooky season arrives at Oakwood Theme Park

 

This week, we’ve been getting into the spooky spirit as Oakwood gets ready for its ‘Spooktacular events’ – the park’s annual Halloween celebrations which sees it welcome scare mazes and extra scary attractions alongside its usual fun. Our film team braved sinister scare mazes, creepy clowns and blood thirsty zombies to produce a promotional video for the upcoming events, showcasing some of the new attractions that will be sure to frighten and entertain guests this Halloween. We also secured coverage of the park’s Spooktacular events on a number of titles including Business News Wales, Wales 24/7, Tenby Observer and national news outlet, I News.

 

4.Celebrating hitting £1 billion in lending

It has been a week for celebrating for our client Optimum Credit. We’ve been sharing the news that they have hit a total of £1 billion in lending five years since they wrote their first loan. We secured print coverage in the Western Mail, as well as online coverage on Business Live, Business News Wales, Wales Business Insider, News From Wales and Wales 24/7

 

5. Grain-free pet food – health or hype?

On behalf of our client Burns Pet Nutrition and its founder, John Burns, we shared a letter to editor about the increasing trend towards grain-free pet food and the growing evidence that suggests going grain-free could actually be doing more harm than good to our four-legged friends. We shared John’s thoughts on what he feels is a market-driven diet trend, rather than a nutritional benefit, and secured coverage in a number of regional titles, including the Birmingham Mail, Peterborough Telegraph and the South Wales Echo.
