From Mid Wales Adventures to a triumphant social campaign for the Champions League Final and glitzy dos for UK-wide PR awards, here’s five peeks behind our week…
1. Cardiff shows the world that we are the Capital of Champions!
Cardiffians are buzzing this week following the triumph of the Champions League Final. We were on the ground over the weekend running social media for Visit Cardiff, capturing the excitement from all over the city. Check @VisitCardiff and you’ll see everything from companies sharing why they’ve invested in the city to interviews with fans from all over the world telling just why they loved their time in our city. Our content started conversations all over the world, getting engagements from football lovers, locals, stakeholders like UEFA and even footballing hero Gary Lineker.
2.Think you know how to build a fire? You may have been doing it all wrong!
As part of our work with Mid Wales Tourism we arranged for the Guardian’s travel journalist Dixe Wills to visit the Centre for Alternative Technology and learn how to build a ‘bijou abode’ (little house for you non-French speakers). Dixe was shocked to learn that his cub scouts fire building training was all wrong, and that the perfect fire is created the opposite way: ‘Logs on the bottom, then kindling, then newspaper, with a firelighter on top”. So now you know! Read about his Mid Wales adventure on The Guardian’s website here.
3. Building on blogger engagement for National Museum Cardiff
At the end of last month we helped to launch National Museum Cardiff’s latest campaign, Dinosaur Babies, with a creative social campaign that captured the minds of dinosaur fans across Wales and wider. As part of our work with the Museum, we put our relationships with local family bloggers to good use and invited a selection of key influencers to the launch of the exhibition to share their experiences on social and their blog channels. Since the exhibition has been up and running, we’ve loved seeing the blog posts come in over the past few weeks, with the likes of Welsh Mummy Blogs, We Made This Life and Yummy Blogger telling their readers all about Dinosaur Babies. Haven’t heard about the exhibition or read these blog posts yet? Get to it!
4. Making dentistry digital for Roland DG
Despite being known for pioneering innovations in the print and sign-making sectors, Roland DG has many another strings to its bow. Having branched into the world of dental technology, the organisation has created a line of software, digital scanners, and milling machines, all to help dental professionals look after our pearly whites. We showcased the Roland DG technology in front of a host of industry professionals by scooping an in-depth feature about Roland products in top trade title, DentalLab Journal. Big smiles all round!
5. Securing a double page spread for Waterstone Homes
Now you may remember last month we told you about how our client, luxury property developer Waterstone Homes, was bringing beautifully designed affordable homes to South Wales . Having already bagged coverage in the Swansea Evening Post, Llanelli Star and Wales Online, we knew that the story had even more potential. With Waterstone Homes’ growing success, we pitched a feature to Swansea Bay Business Life Magazine on the rise of the award winning company, securing a double page spread in this month’s edition.
Covering everything from Waterstone Homes’ history, current developments and parent company Jehu Group’s family values, the magazine gave the property developers a well-deserved show. You can check out the story on page 82 here
